China releases Yangtze environmental protection plan

The Chinese government has released an environmental protection plan for the Yangtze River Economic Belt, news agency Xinhua reports. The plan sets in place an upper limit on the use of water resources along the Yangtze to limit pollution, particularly at drinking water sources, in line with a nationwide ecological strategy to place certain regions under mandatory protection.
