Japan/S Korea: Assessment steady; business heard lower

Prices for sulphuric acid exports from Japan and South Korea remained assessed at $0-5/t FOB, but prices have been under pressure and there were reports of business well below this. Reports that CIL had secured 20,000 t from Japan or South Korea at $16/t CFR were yet to be confirmed but would suggest netbacks likely no higher than negative $14/t FOB. Producers have been adamant that they were not accepting negative netbacks on sales, though options for positive FOB prices were scarce.
