Pakistan: July urea offtake up 24% year on year

Urea offtake in Pakistan in July 2020 at 575,000 t was up 23.5% on the same month a year earlier, according to the latest assessments by the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC). The higher offtake was mainly attributed to the discount of PKR 50 ($0.30)/bag or $6/t offered to farmers by domestic producers, and lower offtake in previous months. The resulting April- July offtake close to 2.22 Mt was up 11.5% on the same months in 2019.
