Sri Lanka: MoA awards Agrifert Liven

The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) processed an award to Agrifert Liven for the 47,700 t granular urea tendered for on January 16 for delivery in bags by the end of March at the trader’s offer of $268.90/t CFRLO Colombo, inclusive of 180 days credit. The cost package based on loading from the Middle East and local bagging at Colombo with bags procured in Sri Lanka is now suggested as low as $25/t from FOB bulk to CFRLO Colombo plus cost of finance estimated around $6/t. This reflects returns around $235/t FOB Middle East when buffered for regular transaction costs and a small provision for weight loss, but with no margin to the trader.
