Slightly firmer prices and sentiment were evident this week in both the Atlantic and Pacific regions for sulphuric acid business. The price range for European spot exports was up to -$10 to $5/t FOB northwest Europe from -$15/t to -$5/t, as demand and prices in delivered markets picked up. Recent sales to Brazil have been reported in the $30s/t CFR, up from previous sales in the $20s/t, and there were indications that buyers may be willing to pay up to the high $30s/t or even $40s/t on new deals.
