US NOLA: Potash prices holding on

Granular potash prices at New Orleans stood unchanged for a third week at $185-192/st FOB. The willingness of some barge sellers to hold out may be due to expectations of higher prices from Canadian suppliers in the coming weeks. However, if those producers win higher prices it is likely sellers will wait for the seasonal closure of the upper Mississippi River in mid- October to propose the increase.
