France: Holiday mood prevails in Europe

Trade in granular urea in Europe was absent this week as holiday mood prevails, with no new sales concluded despite the continued rush by several other key importing regions to secure tonnage in competition with India. Offers were posted at €260-265/t FCA along the French Bay as efforts by some suppliers to secure higher prices failed to succeed. The euro remained strong, supporting CIF returns in USD. The European currency was trading just above $1.18/€1 at the time of writing, still up by more than 4.5% from $1.13/€1 a mere month ago.
