India: April urea output, sales and imports up

Domestic output of urea in India in April 2020 of 1.83 Mt was up 10.6% on the same month in 2019, according to latest FAI data. As reported earlier, sales in April were up by 36.2% year on year to about 1.1 Mt from 804,000 t in 2019, while imports over the month of 340,000 t were up 94.3% on 2019. Domestic output in May 2020 through May 20 are identified by the Department of Fertilizers (DoF) at 1.42 Mt, and is set to exceed the May 2019 total of 1.95 Mt. Output in June 2019 was 1.97 Mt, followed by July at 2.0 Mt and August at 2.15 Mt.
