Brazil: Jan-Aug granular phosphate imports up 26%

Brazil imported 6.3 Mt granular phosphates (DAP/MAP/TSP/SSP/NPK/NP and NPS) in the first eight months of 2019, a 26% rise year on year (or roughly 1.3 Mt higher) with large increases in all products except DAP, according to IHS Markit data. MAP imports in the first eight months of 2019 rose 28% year on year to 2.4 Mt, with volumes from Russia down 6.1% to 545,466 t, volumes from the US up 49% to 495,947 t, imports from Saudi Arabia rising 60% to 553,374 t and volumes from Morocco up 41% to 678,627 t.
