Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were assessed down at $45-48/t FOB from $45-50/t on an indicative basis, though spot sales were scarce. Most traders were confident that prices at the new assessment range would be easy to achieve, but sellers were not yet accepting lower levels, despite lower netbacks implied by global delivered spot prices.
