Scotts 3Q Income up 20 Percent; “Urea is a really good story,” says CFO

Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. reported income from continuing operations for the third quarter ending July 1, 2017, of $151.9 million ($2.53 per share) on sales of $1.08 billion, up from the year-ago $127 million ($2.06 per share). Year-ago net income was higher at $212.7 million, reflecting discontinued operations – Scotts LawnService. Third-quarter adjusted EBITDA was up 18 percent, to $288.1 million from $244.5 million.
