Japex commissioning Soma terminal amid doubts over LNG supply and utilisation

Japan Petroleum Exploration Company (Japex) has begun commissioning Soma LNG with the arrival of a commissioning cargo from Petronas. Japan’s 27th LNG import terminal will come online early 2018 despite the cancellation of the Pacific North West LNG project in Canada that was to supply the facility, and ongoing uncertainties over wider Japanese LNG demand.
