Gazprom sends in debt collectors as unpaid Russian gas bills hit USD 3 billion

The problem of unpaid consumer gas bills across Russia worsened in 2017 despite Gazprom's efforts to increase repayments, the state-backed gas major said this week. The consumer gas debt pile mushroomed to RUB 170.4 billion (USD 3 billion) as of 1 January 2018-an increase of RUB 9.5 billion (USD 167 million) from early 2017.
