CNOOC Petroleum Europe’s exploration well 206/21-1 on the Howick prospect West of Shetland has come up dry. The well has been plugged and abandoned using the Island Innovator semi-submersible rig, which had a dayrate of US $160,000. The rig’s contract with CNOOC is due to expire in November 2019.
