Spirit spends on UK York field

Spirit Energy has invested US $18.2 (￡14m) to get another three years of life from its operated York gas field in the UK Southern North Sea (SNS). The York field is located 34km offshore the Yorkshire coastline in northern England. First gas was produced in 2013 and output was expected to produce until 2020. However, Spirit said that the recently approved York Life Extension Project, aimed at maximising economic recovery of the field, would extend pro-duction until 2023/2024.
