Equivalence of face and volar forearm for the testing of moisturizing and firming effect of cosmetics in hydration and biomechanical studies

Short-term (1 hr) and long-term (three weeks) studies by L'Oreal Recherche on female volunteers with dry skin confirm that the volar forearm is a good representation of the face for studying hydration and biomechanical properties.Results derived from tests on the volar forearm are relevant for the assessment of the efficacy of products destined for facial use.
