Oil futures edged higher after official US government data revealed a larger-than-expected draw on crude oil inventories and a build in gasoline that came in below the consensus. A weekly report from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said crude stocks in the world's largest economy dropped 6.5 million barrels to 436.5 million bbl the week ended Dec. 15. This reading was more bullish than the unofficial American Petroleum Institute (API) numbers released late Tuesday.
