How Exxon May Unite Abu Dhabi’s Giant Zakum Field

Abu Dhabi may carve up its prized offshore concession into three separate parts when the contract expires in March, an outcome that may result in Exxon Mobil expanding its footprint on one of the world’s largest offshore fields. One option under consideration is dividing up the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co. (Adma-Opco) concession, which produces around 700,000 barrels per day, into the Lower Zakum field; the Umm Shaif and Nasr fields; and Satah al-Ras Boot and Umm Lulu fields.
