Indonesia has filed a lawsuit against Thai state firm PTT and two of its upstream subsidiaries demanding $2.1 billion in compensation for the 2009 Montara oil spill disaster offshore Australia. An official at the Ministry for Maritime Affairs said the Montara spill had harmed the marine environment and coastal areas of Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province.
