Chevron Starts Angolan Field

Chevron has started production from the main production facility at the Mafumeira Sul development offshore Angola, which is the largest planned start-up on the US major's list of major capital projects for the 2017-19 period. The project, located on Angola's northerly Block 0, is expected to ramp up to full production through 2018, Chevron said on Wednesday. The facility has a total processing capacity of 150,000 b/d of liquids and 350 MMcf/d of gas, and will tap a total recoverable reserve potential of 300 million boe. Early output using a temporary production system began last October.
