Gazprom Neft in Talks Over Iraq Expansion

Russia's Gazprom Neft is in talks with Baghdad over its potential upstream expansion in federal Iraq, while also keeping an eye on opportunities in Iraqi Kurdistan, Gazprom Neft Deputy CEO Vadim Yakovlev told Energy Intelligence in an exclusive interview. Gazprom Neft and Baghdad recently agreed to revise the service contract for the 3 billion barrel Badra oil field in Iraq's Wassit oil province, Yakovlev explained. The focus now is on negotiating the terms for additional drilling work at the field to help ramp up production as well as gaining potential access to nearby fields.
