Sinopec Raises Pipe Capacity for Shale Gas

Sinopec has increased the capacity of its key Sichuan-to-East China gas pipeline in order to transport more shale gas from southwest China to consumers in eastern China. The state-run firm said Tuesday it has raised the capacity of the 2,170 km line, which runs from Sichuan province to Shanghai, to 15 billion cubic meters per year (1.45 Bcf/d), up from 12 Bcm/yr (1.16 Bcf/d).
