Colombia Saw Small Yearly Output Dip in 2017

Colombia said its average oil output was 854,121 b/d in 2017, above the Ministry of Energy’s projection of 840,000 b/d. In December, the ministry said average crude production hit 870,328 b/d, nearly 4% higher than December 2016. Meanwhile, 2017 natural gas production hit an average of 908.7 MMcf/d. With reserves declining and new projects being shot down by community votes that were expanded after a peace deal with the leftist Farc rebels, Colombia faces an uphill battle to boost oil output (IOD Jan.5’18).
