Gazprom Neft Launches New Cluster

Russia's Gazprom Neft, the country's third-largest oil producer, has announced the start-up of commercial development of a new production cluster in West Siberia, which should help sustain output in the region and offset declines in mature fields. The new production cluster includes five license areas: Zapadno-Zimny, Severo-Vaisky, Karabashsky-84, the Srednevaisky areas in the Khanty-Mansiysk region and the Yuzhno-Zimny area in the Tyumen region. The cluster covers over 5,000 sq km and harbors an estimated 650 million metric tons (4.764 billion bbl) of oil reserves. Crude oil is currently only produced in the cluster from the Zhagrina field, which was discovered in 2017 and launched last year. The field harbors recoverable reserves of 111 million tons (813.6 million bbl) (NC Nov.21'19).
