Energean Looks to Revise Edison Deal

Neptune Energy has abandoned a planned deal worth up to $280 million with London-listed Energean to buy the North Sea assets of Italy’s Edison E&P (IOD Oct.15’19). The deal was contingent on Energean completing an $850 million deal struck last year to acquire Edison’s oil and gas division. However Neptune said in a brief statement Tuesday that it had agreed to terminate the agreement with Energean. It will pay the Mediterranean-focused company a $5 million termination fee.
