Druzhba Crisis Puts Dent in Russian Output

For the first time since Opec and non-Opec producers first reached an agreement in late 2016 to balance the oil market and support prices, Russia cut its production in May by more than it was required to. The decline was not deliberate, however, resulting instead from the crude contamination crisis on the Druzhba pipeline, which led Russia’s national pipeline operator Transneft to limit shipments of crude via its system.
