The $2.6 billion Sur de Texas-Tuxpan marine natural gas pipeline has commenced operations with a transport capacity of 2.6 Bcf/d, which will be destined to supply various power plants in Altamira, Tuxpan and the central region of Mexico. The 772-km (480-mile), 42-inch diameter pipeline will increase gas supply to Mexico to assist the country cover increasing demand in its central and south-southeast regions, Infraestructura Marina del Golfo (IMG), a JV comprised of TC Energy Corp.
