Gazprom Neft Inks Baltic Deal

Klaipedos Nafta (KN), the state-controlled operator of Lithuania's Klaipeda terminal, said last week it has inked a deal to handle fuel oil with a trading subsidiary of Russia's Gazprom Neft. Under the contract, valid through 2011, fuel oil cargoes from Austria- registered Gazprom Neft Trading will ac- count for at least 10%-15% of the Baltic ter- minal's annual capacity, KN said. Klaipeda handled 7.658 million tons of products last year, down from 8.2 million tons in 2008. KN boss Rokas Masiulis said the terminal has handled fuel oil for Gazprom Neft in the past, but this is the first long-term contract.
