Synthesis, structural and biological studies of two new Co(III) complexes with tridentate hydrazone ligand derived from the antihypertensive drug hydralazine

Graphical abstract Two octahedral Co(III) complexes [CoL2]X*4H2O where X=NO3 ? (1) or Cl? (2) were prepared from the hydralazine Schiff base (LH). The structural aspects of the two complexes were analyzed using X-ray single crystal, Hirshfeld and NBO methods combined with DFT calculations. The developmental toxicity of these compounds was tested in zebrafish embryos as well. Display Omitted Highlights ? Two Co(III) complexes, [CoL2]X*4H2O, of hydralazine type ligand were synthesized. ?
