HOUSTON (ICIS)--The North American expandable polystyrene (EPS) industry is seeing consolidation after Alpek purchased the EPS assets of NOVA Chemicals in North America, the two companies announced on Monday. OWNERSHIP CHANGES The announced sale of NOVA’s EPS business marked the second time in as many months as the ownership of North American EPS assets changed hands. In September, a subsidiary of Balmoral Funds announced that they had purchased the EPS business of Flint Hills Resources.
