Contracts for fourth quarter sulphur shipments to Brazil have been settled in the range $120-175/t cfr. Vale has secured 350,000t of sulphur under contract from suppliers in the Middle East, FSU and North America. Volume of 200,000t was settled early from Middle East and FSU suppliers at a price spanning $120-129/t cfr Santos. Delays in settling North American volumes were partly driven by production disruptions from the US Gulf, alongside the recent increase in cfr price over October, owing to supply shortages in the overall market. Elsewhere, 150,000t has been confirmed as secured from North America from Vale, in the range $140-175/t cfr Santos by the buy-side.
