Jan-Aug imports down 18pc

In the year to August India imported 752,000t of sulphur, down by 18pc on last year. Saudi Arabia remained the principal supplier, shipping 333,000t, up by 15pc on the year. Argus-collected data shows nearer to 713,000t was delivered to Indian ports. Domestic fertiliser producer Phosphate Paradeep Limited (PPL) was the largest off-taker, securing 215,000t between January and August.
