Fertilizer freight rates pushed higher this week for voyages for the east Atlantic but fixing volumes were low with few cargoes available and participants suggested the market was poised for a downturn. Most timecharter rates, fronthaul and transatlantic, from the US were flat week-on-week but rapid rises in the price of bunker fuel caused by crude oil price movements meant that most voyage rates moved slightly higher.
