Chinese buyers purchased more than half of all October production of North Sea benchmark-setting crude Forties. Shipments of Forties crude to Asia-Pacific climbed to just under 260,000 b/d in October, up from September's 200,000 b/d, with four very large crude carriers (VLCCs) making the trip, compared with three in September. Asian buyers bought 70pc of Forties production during the month, with 53pc of the grade's output heading to China and 17pc to South Korea. It was the first time in around five months that China has bought most of the grade's production. Forties is the largest stream underpinning the North Sea Dated benchmark.
