The launch of a new Angolan crude stream is unlikely to stem the country’s slump- ing production, which is on course to fall to its lowest in over a decade. The frst cargoes from Total’s 230,000 b/d Kaombo deepwater project are scheduled for September, a loading programme shows. The schedule lists three 950,000 bl cargoes of Gindungo loading on 4-5 September, 17-18 September and 29-30 September. Gindungo is one of six felds that make up the block 32 proj- ect. Total said on 27 July that production had started at the project at a rate of 115,000 b/d and will increase to 230,000 b/d next year when a second foating production, storage and ofoading (FPSO) vessel begins operations.
