Adani scales back Carmichael coal mine plans

Indian conglomerate Adani now plans to build an initial27.5mn t/yr production capacity for its proposed Carmichaelthermal coal mine in the Galilee basin in Australia's northernQueensland, instead of the previous plan of 40mn t/yr. It hasalso dropped plans to have its own 388km rail track from theplanned mine to Abbot Point port and will instead build a200km link to connect to existing rail networks.
