India’s Tangedco seeks 2mn t of imported coal

Indian state-controlled utility Tamil Nadu Generation and Development (Tangedco) is seeking 2mn t of imported thermal coal for delivery between March and September in two separate tenders that close on 23 January. Tangedco’s first tender seeks 1mn t of imported coal from any origin with a calorific value (CV) of at least GAR 6,000 kcal/kg with a 10pc shipping tolerance on an air-dried basis to be delivered to Kamarajar or Karaikal ports in south India. Total moisture should be 15pc, with ash at 6pc and sulphur at 0.6pc.
