摘要

The novel process of using limestone instead of lime for slagging in BOF has widely attracted attention since it was proposed due to its cost-saving, energy-saving and emission-reducing effects. In the traditional process “limestone calcination→ BOF steelmaking”, limestone is calcined in a limekiln though low temperature(1050-1150℃)-long period(tens of minutes) and then charged into converter for a high temperature(≥1300℃)- short time calcination. By contrast, in this novel process, the decomposition and dissolution of limestone proceed simultaneously from surface to center layer by layer. Every dissolved layer was formerly newly generated and only subjected to high temperature - short time calcination. The characteristic of this newly generated lime yielded from the high temperature condition is to be discussed.
