摘要

The effect of gold (Au) nanoparticles coating on the photoluminescence behavior of beta-Ga2O3 nanowires has been investigated. The as-grown beta-Ga2O3 nanowires were single crystalline with monoclinic phase. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra revealed that Au nanoparticles coating induced remarkable suppression of the defect-related emission. This suppression was related to the surface plasmon coupling between beta-Ga2O3 nanowires and Au nanoparticles. A model considering surface plasmon effect has been invoked, which gives the plausible explanation for the reduction in the intensity of the PL peak related to deep level defects in beta-Ga2O3.
