Yemeni long product manufacturer Arab Iron & Steel Corporation (AISCO) is considering switching to import square billet and energy products to maintain operations and satisfy domestic longs demand. In case the situation in the country gets stabilized and demand for steel product restores, AISCO may turn down its plans of relaunching the existing 100,000 tpy EAF meltshop and may start purchases of import semis to cover the needs of its longs-rolling mill.
