Dillinger Hutte Group posts better financial results in FY 2014 in spite of complicated market conditions

After negative results in FY 2013, Dillinger Hutte Group, in spite of the disappointing development of the heavy plate market in 2014, managed to generate a positive EBIT of EUR 88 million and improve its financial performance in FY 2014 mostly thanks to the PRIMUS 16 strategy programme. The heavy plate producer was facing declining raw material costs and a sharp rise of imports from third countries in 2014, which put pressure on selling prices. The average capacity utilization was still as low as almost 70% and failed to support plate profitability.
