Steel consumption to add just 3% in Thailand in 2015 due to national economy slowdown

Steel product consumption will show modest increase in Thailand in 2015 given slower growth of economy and key consuming industries, including automotive and construction sectors. According to the Ministry of Industry of Thailand, consumption is expected to go up 3% in 2015 to 17.51 million t. Of this amount, imports will account for at least 64%, as domestic production capacities are limited, Metal Expert learns. Demand rebound is lower then expected mainly due to slower economic growth in the country.
