Libya’s LISCO is planning to commission a new rebar mill on the back of the forecast growth in demand. It intends to fully cover the needs of the domestic market as well as to enter foreign destinations. LISCO’s new longs rolling mill with a capacity of 800,000 tpy is expected to come on stream at the beginning of 2015. The main reason for the expansion is the forecast increase in demand in the country as well as a “post-war reconstruction of infrastructure and the implementation of public and private construction projects,” a representative of the plant told Metal Expert.
