India's steel ministry seeks higher tariffs on Chinese imports

To counter a rising volume of "dumped" imports from China, India's steel ministry has discussed increasing the import duty with the finance minister, steel and mines minister Narendra Singh Tomar told a press conference.Carbon and stainless steel imports from China were 2.9 Mt in the first ten months of India's financial year to January, almost treble the 1.08 Mt for the whole of 2013/14.
