The Thai state energy firm is considering plans to list its retail business, hiring JPMorgan Chase & Co., Kasikorn Securities, and Phatra Securities to advise on the matter, with a final decision expected in 3Q. Should PTT go forward with an initial public offering (IPO) for its retail business—which consists of 1,458 retail outlets and could be valued at $2-3B—it would be one of the largest IPOs in Thailand's history according to sources. PTT added that it is also looking to bring on a strategic partner for its retail business prior to the IPO which will likely take place next year.
