Tupras completes construction on Izmit refinery upgrade.

The Turkish refiner has announced that it has completed construction and will commence testing its Residuum Upgrade Project, at the HMM-mt/y (220K-b/d) Izmit refinery. Tupras' $3B project will boost deep conversion capacity at the facility with a fuel oil conversion plant that will process 4.2MM mt/y (77K-b/d) of fuel oil to produce 2.9MM mt/y (60K b/d) of diesel, 500-550K mt/y (12-13K b/d) of gasoline, 70-80K mt/y (2.2-2.5K b/d) of LPG, and 710K mt/y of petroleum coke. All units at the facility are expected to be online at the start of the new year.
