The Japan Iron & Steel Recycling Institute (JISRI) held its 6th International Ferrous Recycling Forum June 16 inSapporo City, Hokkaido.The following are summaries of the lectures made there.ASEAN’s steel industry situations and ferrous scrap supply-demand conditions - by SEAISI SecretaryGeneral Tan Ah Young: With steady growth in steel demand, ASEAN’s apparent steel consumption increased by 5%from a yea ago to nearly 69 million tons in 2015. There are prospects that the Philippines and Vietnam will show briskgrowth in their steel demand in 2016, while Indonesia and Malaysia will get back on growth track again.
