Gail India Cancels Tender to Hire Newly Built LNG Carriers Again

The competitive tender to charter newly built LNG carriers was cancelled again, which was invited by GAIL(India) Limited, India’s largest natural gas company. In the tender published in September 2015, GAIL sought to timecharternine newly built LNG ships with conditions that three out of nine ships will be built at Indian shipyards. However,Indian shipyards have neither had technology nor experience of building the highly specialized LNG ships, which is a hitchbefore the tender is done.
