According to the first half (Apr-Sep) results of FY2013-2014 announced by India's state-owned mining company NMDC, the company had 12.89 million tonnes of iron ore production, up 650,000 tonnes or 5.3% from 12.24 million tonnes for the same period the previous year. By state, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka produced 8.45 million tonnes (up 3.1%, ditto) and 4.44 million tonnes (up 9.9%, ditto) respectively. Also, the company had 13.75 million tonnes of sales, up 1.03 million tonnes or 8.1% from 12.72 million tonnes for the first half of the previous year. By state, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka had sales of 9.33 million tonnes (up 5.8%, ditto) and 4.42 million tonnes (up 13.3%, ditto) respectively. Overall, Karnataka's production recovered.
