Brazilian metals and mining company Vale announced on May 5 that its new biggest ore carrier in the world was completed at shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co in South Korea, and is now anchored in Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro. The name of the carrier is “Vale Brasil” with a capacity of 400,000 tons, 362 meters of length and 65 meters of width. Vale Brasil is the first of seven ore carriers ordered from the South Korean shipyard, totaling an investment of 748 million US dollars.
